Vitacress group axes 25 managers’ roles

Salad producer Vitacress will make about 25 management roles redundant in a company restructure, it has emerged.

The group, which consists of Vitacress Salads, VHB and Wight Salads, will make the roles redundant as it closes its Eastleigh head office in Hampshire and brings the three brands under the Vitacress name.

2,000 people in the UK

An employee consultation has already begun at the group, which employs around 2,000 people in the UK.

None of the businesses’ packing and distribution centres will be affected by the restructure, said the company.

Chief executive of Vitacress, Toby Brinsmead, said: “The changes we are announcing today [March 19] will give us a simpler structure, closer to our customers, with more ability to invest in the future. We regret the redundancies we are planning to make and will do all we can to look after those people who are affected.”
