Poultry processor Moy Park has appointed Justin Coleman as its new agriculture development and improvement manager.

In his new role, Coleman will be responsible for leading Moy Park’s innovation and continuous improvement agenda across the company’s agriculture supply base in Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

He will play a “key strategic role” in the delivery of Moy Park’s ‘Plan to Grow’ scheme – a new initiative which aims to increase breeder and broiler growing capacity by up to 400 poultry houses in Northern Ireland over the next two years.

Coleman will bring over 15 years’ supply chain experience to the role, gained most recently with fresh produce firm Finlay’s Horticulture Kenya.

‘Invaluable’

David Gibson, director of agriculture at Moy Park, said: “Coleman’s combination of experience and in-depth agricultural knowledge will prove invaluable in his new role – helping to produce a sustainable, secure and best in class performance for the business.”

Meanwhile, Jim Sands has been appointed as site manager for Moy Park’s convenience food operation at Grantham.

Moy Park recently invested £20M in developing the facilities the site, updating the factory to produce ready to eat and breaded chicken products.

Sands joins from Kerry Foods, where he held a number of roles over the past 15 years, most recently operations director.
