One of the world’s biggest food ingredients shows – the Institute of Food Technology’s (IFT’s) Annual meeting and food expo – opened its doors in New Orleans last week (June 21). Here, we capture in tweets a flavour of the event.

The show is expected to attract more than 20,000 of the world’s leading food and drink industry science and technology professionals.

The event brings together people involved in food science, technology and the business of food and drink manufacture. Delegates include experts in research and development, product development, and quality assurance and quality control, plus executive management, marketing, procurement and sales, together with government officials and academics.

Food safety

So far, tweets have focused on food safety, labelling, waste and gluten-free foods. There were even tweets celebrating the winner of the Good Gumbo competition.

We will update the list, as more tweets are posted from the event in Louisiana.

Don’t miss too, the video preview of the event, filmed at last year's IFT show in Chicago.

The IFT’s Annual meeting and food expo takes place at the Morial Convention Center, on the banks of the Mississippi river, in New Orleans between June 21 – 24.
