2 Sisters Food Group’s non executive director Baroness Lucy Neville-Rolfe has left the business to take up the role of business minister.

Lord Allen of Kensington, chairman of 2 Sisters Food Group, said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Lucy for the contribution she has made to the board. Her good judgement, commercial skills and wise counsel has been much appreciated.”

Neville-Rolfe said: “I am sorry to be leaving this growing and vibrant company. I have very much enjoyed contributing to its development and wish the company and its staff all the very best for the future”

Tesco’s board

She joined the firm’s board in September 2013, after serving on Tesco’s board as executive director of corporate and legal affairs from 2006 until January 2013.

Neville-Rolfe resigned the 2 Sisters role in accordance with parliamentary rules to resume her career in politics. Before joining Tesco, she was director of the deregulation unit, at the Department of Trade and Industry (now the department of Business Innovation and Skills).

Other roles included working at the Cabinet Office, from 1995 to 1997, and in Prime Minister John Major’s policy unit from 1992 to 1994.
