A three-year-old girl has been appointed to Primula’s ‘Cheese Board of Directors’ after entering a winning recipe into the firm’s competition.

Athena Wishart from Camberley, Surrey won with her entry of cheese and ham pasta and will also be featured on Primula’s 2015 calendar.

She will join six other directors, aged between four and 12, and will trial new recipes using Primula Kids.

Primula Kids has no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and reduced salt, as well as added calcium for healthier bones.

Her mother, Donna and her husband David also received a cheese and Pâté hamper.

‘Cheese Board of Directors’

The Cheese Board of Directors was created to encourage youngsters to have conversations with each other about food and develop a love of healthy eating and cooking that will stay with them as they grow up, a Primula spokesman said.

Donna Wishart said: “Athena loves cheese; it’s one of her favourite foods and will often just eat the cheese from cheese sandwiches, so she was thrilled that we’d get to experiment with Primula in our cooking.

“I boiled the pasta and cut the ham, but it was so easy for Athena to squeeze the Primula from the tube that she did most of the combining of ingredients, and had fun at the same time.”
