Blaze breaks out at Berryman
The cause of the fire is under investigation, although it may be several days before the fruit juice firm will know what started the blaze, David Berryman told FoodManufacture.co.uk.
“We have contingency plans in place, which we have already started to implement,” he said.
Suffer delays
“Our strategy will mean that for many traded items there will be no changes. However, there may be some manufactured products which initially may unfortunately, suffer delays. We are working hard to keep these to a minimum.”
Berryman praised his team for their “magnificent and swift” response to the blaze to ensure any inconvenience customers would be kept to an absolute minimum.
“At a time such as this, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our customers and suppliers for their loyalty and support,” he added.
David Berryman produces a large range of fruit juices, purée and concentrates, including apple, apricot, pear, blackberry, cranberry, elderberry, fig, raspberry, pear and orange.
