General Mills appoints new boss
Muehleisen takes over the role previously held by Jim Moseley for 15 years and will be responsible for driving the growth of its brands, which include Häagen-Dazs, Old El Paso, Betty Crocker, Nature Valley and Jus-Rol.
He initially joined General Mills in 1994, working in its Canadian marketing division, before taking on the role of country manager for Germany and Austria in 2001.
In 2006, he took over as the boss of the firm’s German, Austrian, Swiss and Eastern European business.
Most recently, he was md for General Mills’s Australasia business.
Deep commitment
The firm’s president for its Europe and Australasia region, Jon Nudi, said he had helped instil a culture that has deep commitment to General Mills’s people, customers, and consumers.
“Over the past five years General Mills has been consistently among the fastest growing food companies in Australasia, achieved record market shares and delivered strong EBIT [earnings before interest and taxes] growth in one of the toughest trade environments in the world,” he added.
