Management shake-up

He unveiled his first management shake-up, when he announced five top executives would leave the company.

The departing board members were group customer marketing and digital director Nick Collard, group retail director Martyn Fletcher, group property and strategy director Gordon Mowat, group logistics director Neal Austin and convenience md Nigel Robertson.

Group trading director Casper Meijer was the most recent boss to check out of the retailer on April 13.

City analysts Clive Black and Darren Shirley of Shore Capital said Potts was imposing his authority on a company where trading performance had not been good enough for some time.
