New Britain Oils (NBO) has pumped £250,000 into its bakery division and created several key roles in a bid to bolster its sales in the sector.

The investment was targeted at the ingredient supplier’s customer care services for its bakery division, it said in a statement.

NBO, which is a supplier of sustainable palm oil and a manufacturer of bakery products, has taken on two technical support managers, and a quality assurance technologist.

Norman Stark has been appointed technical support manager, following 34 years of experience in the food industry.

Technical support

The role was created by NBO to utilise Stark’s 16 years of experience in customer technical support for bakery, it said.

Former craft baker Charlotte Baden, who has had seven years of experience in commercial bakeries, has been appointed bakery technologist.

Covering legal compliance and overseeing all aspects of quality across the division will be Caroline Noble.

The team would be overseen by NBO veteran Adam Thomas, who has had more than 35 years of experience in the sector.

“These new appointments mark a significant investment by NBO into the bakery division, placing our customer care services at the forefront of the sector,” Thomas said.
