Want to win a food and drink manufacturing excellence award? Then, there's now an extra week to submit your free entry before the extended deadline of Friday July 24.

Celebrating the best of the best in British food and drink manufacturing, the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards (FMEAs) recognise achievement in key industry sectors. This year’s categories include: ambient manufacturing, bakery and beverages, to fresh, chilled and frozen categories among others. See the full list of categories below.

The winner of each category award will be eligible to win the big one: the Food Manufacture Company of the Year. Last year’s top award was won by Dawn Meats scooped last year’s overall top title. Don’t miss our photogallery of last year's winners.

Four other awards

After entering the main category awards, firms will be eligible to enter four other awards: Best New Use of Food Ingredients; Environmental Initiative of the Year; Supply Chain Initiative of the Year; and Training Programme of the Year.

The food and drink manufacturing Oscars also aim to help develop the next generation of food and drink manufacturing industry professionals with the Young Talent of the Year award. This award will be made to the individual the judges assess to be the most promising new apprentice or graduate in food and drink manufacture.

Young Talent of the Year

Oscars wards will be awarded for Judges’ Star Performer – presented to a company selected from all entries, which the judges believe deserves recognition for one particular area of its activities – and the SME (small to medium sized enterprise) Innovation of the Year award. This trophy will be presented to the best small company with a turnover of less than £10M and employing fewer than 100 staff.

The winners will be revealed at a gala dinner celebration at the Lancaster Hotel in West London on November 3. This year’s event will have a carnival theme.
