Food manufacturing Oscar entries close on Friday

This year there are 15 ways to win a coveted food and drink manufacturing Oscar, with main categories spanning: ambient, bakery, beverage and diary plus a range of other categories. See the full list below.

Each category winner will be eligible to win Food Manufacture Company of the Year, won last year by Dawn Meats.

Firms entering a main category will also be eligible to submit an entry for four other awards: Best New Use of Food Ingredients; Environmental Initiative of the Year; Supply Chain Initiative of the Year and Training Programme of the Year.

Training programme of the Year

Three other Oscars on offer include: the Judges’ Star Performer, SME (small to medium­sized enterprises) Innovation of the Year award and Young Talent of the Year award.

The Judges’ Star Performer will be awarded to a company selected from all entries, which the judges believe deserves recognition for one particular area of its activities.

The SME Innovation of the Year award will celebrate the achievement of the best small company with a turnover of less than £10M and employing fewer than 100 staff.

New apprentice or graduate

For the second year running the Young Talent of the Year award – designed to encourage the next generation of industry professionals – will recognise the most promising new apprentice or graduate in food and drink manufacturing sector.

All the winners will receive their Oscars at a gala dinner celebration – this year with a carnival theme – at the Lancaster Hotel in West London on November 3.
