Brace’s Bakery’s recently appointed ceo Scott Richardson has begun refreshing its board of directors with three new appointments.

Richardson, who became ceo of the South Wales Bakery in June, has promoted two staff to the board.

Liz Hayward, who has worked at Brace’s since 2012 has been promoted to HR director and Richard Mynott, who has been with the company for 14 years, has been appointed bakery operations director.

Paul Arrowsmith joins Brace’s as finance director. He previously spent nine year as financial controller at Dawnus Construction.

Complete the board

To complete the board, the company is looking to recruit a further two directors, a commercial director and a technical director.

Richardson said: “I am pulling together the new board based on experience, expertise and passion. This is an exciting time for Brace’s Bakery.

“With a mixture of company knowledge and fresh insights, I am really looking forward to working with the new board and the wider team to continue to develop and grow this wonderful business.”

Family-owned Brace’s was established in 1902 by George Brace, and is now in its fourth generation, with three bakeries in Pen-y-fan, Croespenmaen and Rogerstone in Newport.

The business is run by Richardson, supported by the board of directors and overseen by Mark and Jonathan Brace.
