AAK won the award for inspiring new innovation in Cadbury hot cakes and helping to design a better Cadbury flake cake at lower cost.
The company, which runs the UK's largest edible oils refinery, also played a leading role in Premier Foods's move to 100% sustainable palm oil.
Manufacturer Prima Foods UK also clinched a sustainability award, after switching to sustainable palm oil as part as a rapid supply change for Atora shredded suet.
The winner in the decreasing costs category was manufacturing consultant Factora Solutions, which uses software to help factories achieve their full potential.
'Efficiency, quality and waste reduction'
Premier Foods said Factora had managed to deliver “efficiency, quality and waste reduction improvements” to established processes.
Advertising agency McCann London clinched the award for increased sale after driving growth through the Bisto Together campaign, which aims to bring people together at meal times.
The supplier awards ceremony was staged as part of the manufacturing giant's annual supplier conference at Wokefield Park in Reading yesterday afternoon (October 1).
Premier Foods's procurement and central operations director Mark Hughes said the awards recognised outstanding achievement and motivated their supplier.
“We’re passionate about our supplier relationships and driving strong partnerships is critical to our growth strategy,” Hughes said.
'Tremendous contenders'
“There were some tremendous contenders this year and each of the winners demonstrated a true commitment to our business. Congratulations to all.”
Meanwhile, the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards, now it their 15th consecutive year, will take place on Tuesday, November 3, at the Lancaster Hotel in London.
Hosted by TV star Mark Durden-Smith, the food and drink manufacturing Oscars will celebrate the best of the best in food and drink manufacturing.
