An investment of more than £4M in a 7,430m2 factory and warehouse at Haverhill, Suffolk has been made by dried fruit and nut supplier Petrow Group.

The 2.9ha site opened as the group completed a rebranding following the acquisition of Quality Kernels in 2013.

The group said the site significantly upgraded its processing and screening facilities, and would process dried fruit, coconut, date and nut products.

New name

Petrow Food Group is the new name for the business which includes Petrow Food Industries (PFI) and Quality Kernels.

“The new group combines PFI's leading know-how in chopping, nibbing, pasting and slicing dried fruit with Quality Kernels’ expertise in processing and roasting of a full range of nuts and seeds in a peanut-free environment,” said Graham Davenport, sales and procurement director of Petrow Food Group.

The group will continue with its blending and packaging lines at its Perivale site in west London.
