The food firm has acquired ISO2 Nutrition’s trading business from the administrators of the sports brand’s owner Cre-8tive Health.
ISO2 Nutrition, which supplies bodybuilding supplements, whey protein and sports nutrition products, will be integrated into Real Good Food’s Garrett Ingredients business.
The acquisition of the Swindon-based brand has saved five jobs and there are plans to recruit more employees in the future.
‘Adding bolt-on businesses’
Real Good Food executive chairman Pieter Totté said: “We are pleased to announce this acquisition, which is in line with our stated strategy of identifying and adding bolt-on businesses within our existing three pillars of cake decoration, premium bakery and – in this instance – food ingredients.
“Garrett’s has a long established relationship with the business and this enables us to enter a new and interesting channel, adding product and portfolio diversification, which is a deliberate move, as we decrease Garrett's dependency on the dairy and sugar commodities markets.”
ISO2 Nutrition was one of the leading suppliers in the sports supplements market, according to Real Good Food.

Garrett Ingredients supplies dairy, sugar and specialist food ingredients to food manufacturers across the UK. It has been a major player in the ingredients market since 1948.
The business was started by Alan Garrett who discovered that small companies were struggling to get supplies following the Second World War.
