Web-based salad monitoring: from field to factory

Swiss-based convenience salads producer Eisberg group is using a web-based software system to help provide end-to-end quality management while monitoring products to ensure they are delivered as fresh as possible.

Using the CSB-System software, raw materials are monitored for both quality and quantity while growing in the field. Laptop computers enable Eisberg staff to input this data into the system and access an overview of vendors, orders and products.

It is also used to assess raw materials once they arrive at the factory, with IT stations incorporating touchscreens that enable online data capture and direct transfer to the company’s enterprise resource planning system. Analysis between the field and factory can determine any changes that have occurred, for example during transport.

Every item has to pass 15 tests before being further processed. The software creates a pallet label with all relevant details and a lot number, which is used to continue monitoring throughout production.
