Greencore group technical director Helen Sisson will explain how the manufacturer has harnessed lean production techniques to deliver efficiency improvements and cost savings across its business.
“One of key aims, which is encapsulated in The Greencore Way, is to maximise our business effectiveness through operating as a lean enterprise right across the supply chain,” said Sisson.
Greencore’s lean approach had delivered big improvements to its growth and performance, Sisson added. A focus on sustainability was a key part of the approach.
“The Lean Environment programme has been developed to deliver a targeted, structured approach to environmental performance improvement across the Greencore Group,” she said.
Sisson’s webinar presentation will explain how Greencore has introduced lean production techniques across its sites.
Also under the spotlight will be the lean and green validation processes for suppliers adopted by Marks & Spencer (M&S). Joining the Greencore boss on the webinar panel will be Louise Nicholls, M&S head of responsible sourcing and packaging and Plan A.
Also taking part will be Jeremy Praud, partner at Lauras International, which is sponsoring the online seminar and fast-moving consumer goods improvement specialist Simon Spanyol.
Praud will deliver an overview of how lean and green manufacturing and auditing is benefiting a range of food and drink manufacturing businesses. Spanyol will detail the four key steps needed to make the most of lean, drawing on his experience at Mars and elsewhere.
Attending the webinar, Lean and green manufacturing: realising the potential, will help delegates benchmark production techniques and learn the latest on lean and green evaluation processes, he said.
The expert panel will also take part in a live question and answer session, dealing with queries submitted during the webinar by delegates. Alternatively, questions on lean and green production and evaluation techniques can be submitted in advance by emailing michael.stones@wrbm.com.
