What is claimed to be the world’s largest capacity food processing homogeniser has gone into operation with its first customer.

The Homogenizer 500 was developed by Tetra Pak in partnership with Chinese food company YinLu, which manufactures peanut milk.

According to Tetra Pak, the homogeniser processes up to 63,600 litres an hour, offering good product quality at low operational cost. It features the company’s HD EnergyIQ, a homogenising device that uses six gaps, rather than one. This enables it to operate at pressures that are around 20% lower than standard machines.

Not only does it provide a significant reduction in energy consumption, it also operates at lower pressure, which helps to reduce wear, claims Tetra Pak.

Its construction is designed to provide easy service access and high uptime, says Tetra Pak. It also uses 80% less cooling water and 70% less steam compared with many alternative machines.
