Walkers launched the limited edition crisps to celebrate the team’s surprise triumph – against odds estimated, at the beginning of the football season, to be at 5000 to one.
The manufacturer’s limited edition salt & vinegar crisps were announced with the end of its Countdown to Kit Off promotion.
Gary Lineker
In the promotion, BBC TV’s Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker promised to present the show in his underwear if Leicester won the premier league.
The crisps will be given for free to attendees of this season’s final home game against Everton on May 7. There are no plans to sell the product in stores.
Walkers marketing director Thomas Barkholt said: “Everyone at Walkers is incredibly proud of our Leicester heritage and we are absolutely delighted that the club will be taking home the Premier League trophy.”
Spiced rum
Morgan rum launched a special edition of its Morgan’s Spiced Rum that features Leicester City captain Wes Morgan dressed as a blue buccaneer. The traditional signature of Captain Morgan on the bottle was replaced with the football captain’s signature.
The rum manufacturer’s senior brand manager Rhys Love said: “We have created a limited edition Captain ‘Wes’ Morgan bottle to celebrate his incredible title win triumph as the club’s skipper.
“We salute Leicester City and their own Captain Morgan.”
