With growing demand for products that contain no additives or preservatives and have low, no or reduced allergenicity, gelatine is able to offer a variety of functions and “clean up” ingredient lists at the same time, claimed ingredient maker Gelita.
‘Free from E-numbers’
Today’s consumer wants “tasty, appealing and natural foods that are free from E-numbers or chemical-sounding additives”, the German firm said.
It offers a range of gelatine products, including Optice, which mimics the mouthfeel and texture of ‘fatty’ products.
