Extracts range offers concentrated antioxidant boost

A line of extracts claimed to deliver high concentrations of antioxidants has been introduced by Archer Daniels Midland (ADM).

The extracts can deliver concentrated doses of the powerful antioxidant compounds beta-carotene and anthocyanins in a wide range of foods and beverages, the producer claimed.

Precursor for vitamin A

Beta-carotene is a precursor for vitamin A, which is an essential nutrient that plays a role in maintaining eye and skin health.

ADM’s beta-carotene-rich vegetable extracts are made from carrots, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, paprika from chili peppers, and reishi mushrooms.

Anthocyanins are antioxidants that are believed to help maintain a healthy immune system.

Anthocyanin extracts

ADM’s anthocyanin extracts originate from purple sweet potatoes, purple maize, purple carrots, beets, rhubarb, tomatoes and red cabbage.

The new extracts deliver key phytonutrients from vegetables while at the same time providing an optimal sensory experience, ADM said.
