The cake firm confirmed its change from Narna’s Cakes to Ridiculously Rich by Alana last week (January 12). More changes were expected to come, it confirmed.
“Finally the transformation from Narna’s Cakes is complete,” Ridiculously Rich by Alana wrote on its website.
‘Exciting changes’
“Lots of exciting changes to come over the next few months so be sure to keep an eye on our social media for updates.”
This month has been the bakery’s busiest in its seven-year history. It had to stop taking orders from December 23 to January 4 to work through its order backlog.
“January 2017 has been by far our busiest yet! The Umpa Lumpa’s are working day and night to get all orders fulfilled,” it said.
Ridiculously Rich by Alana’s owner, Spencer, won a £250,000 investment from Alan Sugar last month for her baking business. The Welsh business has since launched an online store since agreeing the 50:50 partnership deal with Lord Sugar.
Supplying to retailers
The business is also about two months away from supplying to retailers, Spencer tweeted (below).
Spencer had been running trials of the new brand in the company’s Swansea production site.
Meanwhile, the company revealed it was hiring a production pastry chef, last week. The six-month role would be based in Aberystwyth.
Ridiculously Rich by Alana makes six key products: rocky roads, crème brûlée brownies, chocolate brownies, fudge cakes, caramel slices and flapjacks.
