Marel introduces chicken processing kit to the US

Marel Poultry unveiled a number of new poultry processing developments at last month’s 2017 IPPE show, held in Atlanta, Georgia in the US.

For the first time in the US, the company showed its CAS SmoothFlow system, an advanced stunning method that makes use of a controlled atmosphere to stun animals humanely, while ensuring high meat quality and complying with the most stringent legislation. The first CAS SmoothFlow has been sold to an unnamed US processor.

The brand new ACM-EH (easy hanging) cut-up system was also on display. This is targeted at markets that prefer an easy manual infeed of chilled whole products.

The specifically designed EH product carriers facilitate hang-in. At the same time, they are said to be reliable, stable and ow maintenance.

Processors can make a choice out of a large variety of modules to produce the required end products, such as wing, leg and breast cutting modules.

Among them, the EZYield LegProcessor assures efficient, anatomical leg cutting with high yield, the company claimed.

Marel also highlighted the capabilities of its in-line high-capacity thigh and ‘intelligent’ breast filleting systems at the show.
