Green algae set to be leading ingredient trend

A type of green algae is being touted as a leading 2017 ingredient trend, on the back of estimates that the sector will double in value in just seven years.

Claimed to be a powerful antioxidant with a number of health benefits, chlorella is the focus of a PR campaign from UK producer Sun Chlorella.

Dyno-Mill technology

Its chlorella is pulverised by Dyno-Mill technology, a system that breaks down the indigestible cell walls of the chlorella to release the algae’s nutrients without the use of excessive heat or chemicals, which can be detrimental to the quality of the end product.

It is available in tablet, granule and liquid form.
