Rapid tests under the microscope

Rapid testing techniques are becoming more widely used in food microbiology laboratories as part of the drive to produce faster and more accurate results.

Conventional microbiology is also experiencing many changes with the introduction of new testing media and confirmation kits.

A Campden BRI seminar on ‘rapid and conventional micro methods’ to be held on June 8, targeted at microbiologists, manufacturers and technologists from the food and drink industry, will combine presentations from the areas of rapid and conventional testing.

In particular, the seminar will include presentations on: new and emerging methods; how to choose the correct method; manufacturers’ perspective on method selection; method validation considerations; and how to save time and money on microbiological analysis.

The one-day event will also include an exhibition, providing the opportunity for delegates to network with suppliers in this area.

These will include lab testing specialists 3M UK, bioMérieux, BioControl Systems, Bio–Rad, Hygiena International, Inlabtec, Neogen , Primerdesign, Rheonix, Sartorius, SGL and Thermofisher.
