Tetra Pak extends carton technology
All types of beverage products – including both ambient and chilled and in family or portion-sized packages – can now be filled on Tetra Pak’s E3 machines, which make use of novel eBeam technology, following the rollout of the full range of equipment.

“The use of eBeam in the packaging material sterilisation process is a groundbreaking first in the carton packaging industry,” claims Charles Brand, Tetra Pak’s executive vice president for product management.

“This will help the customer to cut operational costs by as much as 20%, while reducing the environmental impact, making water recycling easier and lowering energy consumption.”

The Tetra Pak E3/Speed Hyper, which is claimed to be one of the world’s fastest aseptic carton filling machines, is among the latest introductions to the range.

The new machine runs at 40,000 ambient portion packages an hour, which Tetra Pak says is more than 60% faster than its next nearest carton packaging rival, thanks to the use of eBeam sterilisation.

Also making its debut is the Tetra Pak E3/Flex, which will produce a new chilled family package, the Tetra Brik 900 Ultra Edge.
