Kendrick will continue to serve as chairman of Nestlé UK & Ireland, and will provide strategic support to the company, Nestlé said. The new appointment will come into effect from July 1.
Incoming ceo Agostini was president and ceo of Nestlé Waters Italy for 10 years. Prior to that, he worked as a regional sales manager for Nestlé, national sales director with Nestlé Waters Italy, and a country business manage for Nestlé Waters UK.
‘Decided to stand down’
According to a Nestlé UK statement, “Chairman and ceo of Nestlé UK & Ireland, Dame Fiona Kendrick has decided to stand down as the ceo of the UK & Ireland market, but will continue to serve as chairman providing strategic support to the company.
Kendrick has served as Nestlé UK and Ireland ceo since October 2012. She originally joined the manufacturer in 1980 in the commercial sector. She has since held a number of positions within Nestlé, and led its global coffee business division for six years from 2006.

Having previously held the position of president of the Food and Drink Federation until January 2017. She was replaced by Premier Foods’s ceo Gavin Darby.
Kendrick is currently a board member of the Institute of Apprenticeships. She was made Dame Commander of the British Empire for services to the food industry, and support for skills and opportunities for young people, in 2015.
In 2015 Kendrick featured in Food Manufacture’s Big Interview. She said she was frustrated with the lack of government recognition for food and drink manufacturing.
