The acquisition will increase Lomond’s staff numbers from 104 to 160, with its fleet of dual-temperature delivery vehicles growing from 21 to 40.
Lomond will gain access to Hall’s foodservice customers. The acquisition positioned the company for further growth into the convenience and retail sectors.
Md Sam Henderson said the acquisition was the start of the next chapter in the evolution of the company.

Cake manufacturer reveals expansion plans
Fledgling company Cake – Lomond’s bakery business – is ready to take on more orders after moving to a new factory in February, bakery manager Tracey Lindle told Food Manufacture in an exclusive interview.
Henderson assured customers of both business that it would be a seamless transition and that they could expect the same level of customer service they had been used to from Lomond and Hall’s.
Established in 1997, Lomond celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. It mainly supplies premium chilled and frozen products, sourced from local producers, to cafes and sandwich bars.

It owns three food manufacturing companies – bakeries Cake and Vili’s and soup manufacturer Love Soup.
Lomond’s turnover for the year ending December 31 2015 was £15.3M, with an operating profit of £407,022.
The sale of Hall’s to Lomond is the latest in a number of food and drink acquisitions made this year, including the £55M sale of Charles Wells Group’s brewery and Addo Food Group acquired in a deal worth £100M.
