The ‘Raise a Packet’ promotion, announced today (September 5), will see the two companies donate 5p per multipack of Seabrook crisps sold between September 6 and September 26.
Seabrook also sent packets of crisps to the main cancer treatment centres across the country last week for Clic social workers to enjoy, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Jon Wood, commercial director at Seabrook, said: “We are proud to support Clic Sargent and join their fight for young lives against cancer.
‘Offering practical support’
“A diagnosis devastates young people and families emotionally, physically and financially, and Clic Sargent is there to limit the damage cancer causes by offering practical support such as grants, support and spaces near hospitals for families to do simple things like laundry.”
Morrisons’ partnered with Clic following a staff vote in January this year. The three-year partnership has a target of £8M, which will be used to train new nurses and fund home hubs – places for families of cancer victims to stay in-between visits to hospitals.
Morrisons’ head of corporate affairs David Scott said: “It is great that Seabrook are coming on board to help us reach our target for Clic Sargent young people and their families.
‘Help us reach our target’
“We are proud to bring this fundraising promotion in to stores, so more people can benefit from the amazing work Clic Sargent does for families across the UK.”
Seabrook and Morrisons’ partnership with Clic followed a number of contributions made to charities by food manufacturers in the past month. Read more information about Clic Sargent here.
