New food ingredients show to highlight the latest top trends
Targeted at the food development market, The Ingredients Show will showcase novel ingredients and provide manufacturers with an opportunity for knowledge sharing and information gathering.
The show will be held at the Birmingham NEC from April 2018 16–18, and take place alongside Foodex, Food & Drink Expo, Farm Shop & Deli Show and the National Convenience Show.
Run by William Reed – publisher of FoodManufacture.co.uk and Food Manufacture – the five shows are designed to cover everything from ingredients through to finished products. Together, they will comprise more than 1,500 exhibitors.
The Ingredients Show is expected to involve more than 100 international ingredients suppliers, including big players and small start-ups. Firms already signed up include GNT UK, Döhler UK, Diana Foods and EHL Ingredients, as well as a Chinese Pavilion with 15 specialist ingredients firms.
The big issues in food development
The event will include a Live Theatre programme, which will address the big issues in food development, including health and nutrition.
The event’s launch comes as global demand for UK-made products is expected to fuel future growth, according to a new report from Santander and manufacturers’ organisation EEF.
The report found that last year, 217 international markets bought products from the UK, contributing a record £20bn to the economy.
Innovation was at the heart of the UK food and drink industry’s success, with manufacturers constantly looking at new product development to capitalise on the latest trends, said William Reed event director Dan Dixon.
‘Engine room of innovation and growth’
“Food development is the engine room of innovation and growth, and ingredients are the fuel. That’s why we have decided to bring this area of the industry into the spotlight,” Dixon said.
“The Ingredients Show, together with Foodex, will provide manufacturers with a one-stop-shop for innovative new ingredients and equipment. It will enable businesses to tap into the latest trends and deliver innovative new products that drive future growth.”
