European natural vanillin manufacturing capacity has increased by 60t after French firm Solvay upgraded its facilities to meet growing demand globally.

Effective this month, the extra capacity was designed to fulfil ever-greater natural and clean-label requirements, the company said.

Solvay’s Vanil’ Expert Center Innovation Platform in Lyon, meanwhile, has been recently relocated to a new part of the city. It now includes a pilot plant capable of simulating production on a semi-industrial scale, to help the company meet the latest food trends.
