Chocolate and malt blend offers food makers more crunch

A novel blend of malt and chocolate flavours with a crunchy texture has been unveiled by Suffolk-based Muntons Ingredients.

MaltiCrunch Chocolate is made from a blend that includes malt, milk and cocoa, dried by a vacuum band before being ground into coarse chunks.

According to Muntons, these large particles provide a crisp, crunchy texture with the sweet taste of chocolate and malt.

Readily soluble, MaltiCrunch can be blended in water or milk to produce sweet-tasting chocolate malt beverages.

A wide range of applications

It can be used in a wide range of applications including sweet spreads, dairy, ice cream, instant beverages, snacks, cereal bars and chocolate confectionery, the ingredients firm claimed.

“MaltiCrunch Chocolate offers food and drink manufacturers a number of benefits across a diverse range of applications, improving flavour and adding texture,” said Tom Hall, head of sales at Muntons Ingredients.

The product is available in 25kg sacks. Samples are available on request.
