This year’s BDCI Festival Dinner takes place on Friday 2 November and will be held in the historic Grade II-listed Whitbread Brewery building in the City of London. Tickets cost £160 per person and the event will feature the annual charity auction and disco. To book your ticket, click here.
Matt Dawson said: “I am very much looking forward to the BDCI Festival Dinner, as my two passions are rugby and cooking. I have a great relationship with my local butcher’s and rely heavily on them to recommend best cuts and new tricks and tips to get the best out of meat.”
BDCI provides support for anyone in the UK and the Republic of Ireland who has been connected with the meat trade, as well as their widows/widowers or dependents.
Edward Hoefling, BDCI treasurer, said: “I know Matt will be warmly received by our meat Industry colleagues. I’m sure he will have some entertaining stories to recount, whether from rugby, sport, Masterchef or Strictly, and very much look forward to hearing him speak.”
Earlier this year, Cranswick’s chief operating officer Chris Aldersley was appointed the 2018 Festival chairman, succeeding Sainsbury’s Master Butcher Julien Pursglove.
