The new Breakfast to Go range is the first packaged cereal and milk product, claimed Nestlé, with consumers able to choose from two of its most popular cereals, Shreddies or Shredded Wheat Honey & Nut.
Each pack contains a pot of cereal, milk and a spoon and is designed to meet the rising trend toward out-of-home breakfasts in the UK.
Brits spent £5bn on out-of-home breakfasts in 2017, with the average person eating breakfast on-the-go at least once a week – spending about £2.30 each time – according to research by Kantar Worldpanel.
Market research
Research by Nestlé suggested 15% of adults in the UK ate breakfast at work or on-the-go, with this number rising to 24% for those aged 25–34 years old. Just over one-fifth (21%) of adults aged 35–44 said they ate breakfast out of the home.
Gharry Eccles, vice president UK & Australia Nestlé Cereals, said: “With life getting busier and busier, time-poor Brits are racing to get out the door during the morning rush.
“The Breakfast to Go products have everything you need to enjoy a bowl of one of your favourite cereals, anywhere, anytime.”
Consumers will see the new packs hit the shelves at Co-op Food and Nisa from this month, with a recommended retail price of £1.99.
