A range of CO2 packaged chillers with capacities from 30kW to 450kW has been launched by Green Thermal Energy (GTE) in conjunction with its Italian manufacturing partner Enex.

The GTE-Yukon range is available in either air or water-cooled configuration and is geared towards both production and air conditioning applications.

Designed to provide a natural refrigerant alternative for both specifiers and end users, the range brings the benefits of CO2 refrigeration to the packaged chiller sector.

According to the company, it is one of the first standardised range of CO2 chillers with a full range of options.

Exit water/glycol temperatures

The range can operate with exit water/glycol temperatures from 10⁰C to as low as -30⁰C.

Alongside cooling only models, GTE-Yukon units are also available that combine cooling with high temperature waste heat recovers. These deliver hot water at temperatures up to 80⁰C, resulting in cost and carbon savings, GTE said.

The hot water can be used directly within a circulated system or to deliver make-up water to feed steam boiler systems, it added.

“We are pleased to launch GTE-Yukon at a time when the F-Gas regulations are generating an increased level of interest in natural refrigerant carbon dioxide cooling systems,” said GTE’s Garry Broadbent.
