The company has appointed Anthony Ware as its export manager, with responsibility for mapping out priorities and opportunities for overseas growth at the company over the next five years.
James Arnold, managing director at Sleaford Quality Foods, said: “Export will be an important part of our growth strategy over the next five years, and Anthony will bring a wealth of understanding to the market after being involved in the export of goods to the US, China and the Middle East, to name a few. He has experience in exporting food around the world and has all the qualities we are looking for as we aim to make our export strategy more focused and effective.”
Ware’s previous international experience has been largely in the hotel industry, with assignments in Dubai, Qatar, South Africa and France. On returning to the UK, he entered the foodservice and manufacturing arena.
He said: “Having established a wealth of international expertise, companies began asking me to look after their export activities and I subsequently worked for two companies as their export expert before joining Sleaford Quality Foods.
“The opportunity to join Sleaford Quality Foods is very exciting as I will be shaping their export strategy. To continue and build on the success we have achieved here in the UK, we have a great opportunity to enter new markets overseas and build long-term partnerships in the manufacturing and foodservice sectors. I’m looking forward to taking my past export experience and shaping the export strategy at Sleaford Quality Foods.”
In October, the business appointed former Nestlé Cereal Partners UK sales director Sonja Bentley to its executive team. It also won Ambient Manufacturing Company of the Year at the 2018 Food Manufacture Excellence Awards, held in London earlier this month.
