Available in Apple & Sage, Hot ‘n’ Spicy and Smokey variants, the soy-based mixes were easy to use and offered value for money, claimed Dalesman.
The new flavours have joined the manufacturer’s original, Vegetarian Society Vegan approved, Dalesman Vegan No Sausage Roll. All four only require the addition of water at a ration of two parts to one-part mix.
Company director and founding member Ian Rhodes said: “We have found that demand for vegan produce is growing at an astonishing pace and we are working tirelessly to provide consistent and high-quality flavour and innovation of products, not only for the sake of providing a better culinary experience for the vegan and vegetarian consumer, but also to capture the attention of other modern lifestyle approaches to diet.”
Diversification
Traditionally a sausage seasoning company, Dalesman has diversified its portfolio to include flavours and functional products for bakery, butchery and vegan food production.
“With these new listed products, we are giving our customers, old and new, the opportunity to enter the plant-based market with ease and get a slice of the Greggs pie,” Rhodes added.
The past year has seen a number of vegan product launches from food and drink manufacturers.
Last month saw Dutch firm Vegan ZeaStar confirm the launch of its new plant-based sashimi in the UK, while confectionery giant Mars revealed plans to launch its first vegan chocolate product under the Galaxy brand in the UK.
Meanwhile, the Association of Independent Meat Suppliers has pushed back at what it describes as the “creeping tide of vegan propaganda promoted in some part of the media”.
