Delamere Dairy launches ‘UK first’ Goat’s Milk Powder

The Knutsford-based dairy said the new whole milk powder was launched in response to consumer demand for store cupboard alternatives during the coronavirus pandemic.

The product, which is offered in a 400g box, makes up to 3.8 litres of goat’s milk once it is stirred into warm water. It has a shelf-life of up to four weeks. 

Pandemic​

This is not the first product innovation from the company. In 2018 it launched its branded range of Planted drinks, a plant-based range of oat, almond and coconut drinks​​.

A year later Delamere Dairy entered the Australian national market chain IGA ​with its goat’s butter​​

Store cupboard alternatives​

Ed Salt, managing director at Delamere Dairy, said: “During the pandemic we have seen an increased demand for our milk and customers enquiring about store cupboard alternatives.​ ​

“Many people rely on the milk for their diets and the powder now gives them another option to avoid running short and make their lives a little easier.​”

Delamere Dairy was founded in 1985 by Liz and Roger Sutton. The company sells a range of fresh and long-life goat’s products, including cheeses, yogurts, butters, milks and powder, as well as plain and flavoured cow’s milks, a range of sheep cheese and yogurt, and a growing portfolio of milks for the pet industry

Its new Delamere Dairy Goat’s Milk Powder is now available in Waitrose stores (rrp £7.50). Initially, the milk will be on promotion from 8 July until 28 July with 20% off.
