LGC buys Safefood 360° food safety platform

Teddington-based LGC has announced the acquisition of food safety and supplier management solutions platform Safefood 360°.

The move expands LGC’s supply-chain assurance offering, which includes BRCGS’ leading certification scheme, Informed Sport and Informed Choice nutritional supplement endorsement marks, and AXIO proficiency testing.

Compliance support

Safefood 360° supports compliance with global food safety and supplier management requirements.

International legislation covered includes FSMA, USDA and CODEX, as well as EU and Australian legislation. Supported retailer standards include Tesco, Walmart, Lidl, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons and Costco, along with third-party certification such as ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRC, IFS and SQF.

The Safefood 360° web-based enterprise software currently consists of three solutions – food safety management, supplier management and manufacturers’ compliance – as well as more than 35 modules, BI platform and Integration APIs.

The platform allows users to manage quality reporting, workflow, documentation and audit requirements. Food safety and quality management workflows are automatically updated when international regulations and standards change.

Formed in 2011, the Safefood 360° company is based in Dublin, Ireland, and currently employs close to 30 people.
