Reporting to corporate affairs and ESG director Hannah Collyer, Brown will oversee the manufacturer’s environmental, social and governance agenda and will be responsible for delivering against the company’s sustainability targets.
Prior to his sustainable packaging director role, Brown has held senior positions at CCEP during his 22 years with the company.
Previous roles
This included head of sustainability, associate director for demand planning, associate director for recycling and associate director for commercialisation (new product development).
Commenting on his appointment, Brown said: “This is a hugely exciting time to join Premier Foods and as the business moves into its next phase of growth, I see a real opportunity to build on the momentum of the last 18 months, which has rightly brought ESG into sharper focus.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the teams and learning more about the business’s iconic brands, which will both play a crucial role in bringing Premier Food’s strengthened ESG strategy to life.”
Brown will also work with Juliette Mille, who was appointed to the permanent role of ESG Manager earlier this year.
Delivering sustainability
Collyer added: “Nick brings with him a wealth of experience and a true passion for sustainability that will be vital in helping to deliver our sustainable growth model.
“Nick’s appointment is demonstrative of the importance we place on ESG and we’re pleased to welcome Nick to our growing team.”
Brown’s appointment is effective from today, 16 August 2021.
Meanwhile, Mars Food UK has promoted Armen Topalian as general manager, with the title market director, replacing Craig Sargeant who is leaving his role because he has also been promoted.
Mars Food UK said Topalian would combine his current responsibilities as sales director with overall responsibility for Mars Food UK, where he has been acting general manager since October 2020 and sit on Mars’ European Food leadership team.
