Woodhead will oversee the supply of the manufacturer’s soft drinks business, which includes the Lucozade and Ribena brands.
He joins the team from alcoholic drinks firm Asahi UK, where he held the role of supply chain director for almost two years before he became the director of logistics.
Prior to his time with Asahi, Woodhead held a number of senior supply chain roles, including three years with consumer goods firm Henkel and a nine-year stint with General Mills in the UK.
Joining the executive committee
As Supply Chain Director, Woodhead sits on the SBF GB&I executive committee, giving him an important role in driving forward the company's ambitious commercial and sustainability goals tied to the business’ ‘Growing for Good’ vision.
Commenting on his appointment, Woodhead said: “I am really looking forward to working with the team fronting into and navigating the many macro and geopolitical challenges facing many supply chains and making a positive impact for the SBF GB&I business and for our diverse range of customers.
“It is a really exciting opportunity for me to use my experience and work with some of the most loved brands in the UK.”
New base of operations
Woodhead will be based at SBF GB&I’s Stockley Park office in Uxbridge. He will split his time between the London headquarters and Gloucestershire factory.
Carol Robert, chief operating officer at SBF GB&I, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Daniel to the team and look forward to benefiting from all of his supply chain expertise.”
Meanwhile, in other food and drink sector appointment news, this past week saw sports nutrition firm Science in Sport hire a new chief financial officer, while prepared meals manufacturer Greencore Group appointed its new chair designate.
