Enough and Sacla announce senior appointments
Alternative protein producer Enough has appointed John Gray as managing director for its EU operations.
Formerly MBU director Europe & Global poultry lead for value-added food products manufacturer OSI, Gray brings more than 30 years’ experience across the food manufacturing, marketing, sales, foodservice and meat production industries to his new role.
Commenting on his appointment, Gray said: “It is a privilege to join Enough to support their mission to help to resolve the planet’s future global protein requirements in such a sustainable way,”
“Enough is at a pivotal moment as we prepare to build scale with our first world class plant in Europe, and with an eye on the scaling to meet future protein demands globally.”
Enough’s expansion
Gray’s appointment comes one month after the meat-alternatives firm announced the completion of its flagship non-animal protein facility (pictured), reportedly the world’s largest of its kind. The 15,000m2 site will have an initial capacity to produce 10,000 tonnes of mycoprotein by fermenting fungi per annum from Q4 2022.
Jim Laird, chief executive Enough, added: “Enough’s aim is to grow capacity for sustainable non-animal protein sources in line with needs of the market. John’ combination of passion and experience in the food industry, specifically in the global poultry market, adds great capability to Enough and we are delighted that he is joining the team."
In other appointment news, Beaconsfield pesto manufacturer Sacla has boosted its sales, marketing and ecommerce reach with a raft of new appointments.
Phil Davies joins the business as its new head of ecommerce, bringing with him more than 20 years’ experience in the food, drink and gift markets. His key focus will be on optimising the customer journey and growing the direct to consumer ecommerce sales at Sacla.co.uk.

Sacla noted Arthey’s effectiveness in driving growth through strategic thinking and plan execution either trading directly with customers or working with a network of distributors.
Finally, Lindsay Hill joins the business as head of marketing from her previous role as head of marketing for Yoplait UK.

Commenting on the appointments, Sacla UK managing director Clare Blampied said: “We are going for growth! We are the brand leader and known as the ‘pesto pioneers’ but we are also so much more.
