Kent Crisps was founded in 2011 and is independently owned and managed by Laura Bounds.
The ethos surrounds creating great tasting, hand cooked crisps using the finest quality, British grown and Red Tractor assured potatoes.
The Kent Crisp packaging celebrates Kent and its British branding featuring photographs of iconic landscapes and places of interest gives a competitive advantage.
In recent years the export side of the business has drastically increased with the company now supplying over 10 international markets including China, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia, Germany and USA. Its overseas clients include supermarket chains, independents and British Food Stores.
The company has worked closely with the Department for International Trade, including being one of its “Export Champions”. This relationship has seen the company increase its reach and sales outside the domestic market.
Princes
Princes has seen growth in its international sales this year with its strategic focus being on expanding Napolina across the world.
The team has secured listings in the Middle East on 66 products in 16 countries and introduced the first Arabic label pack launching in September.
It is also progressing more multilingual packs launching a Kosher Hebrew label for the Israeli and USA markets.
The success of Napolina has been achieved through new listings in Thailand, Malaysia and Hong Kong as well as distribution currently being finalised in The Philippines, Mauritius, Tanzania, Qatar and Kenya.
The next stage is to continue progressing similar launches in the US and New Zealand.
Simply Doughnuts
Simply Doughnuts is the manufacturer of fresh doughnuts that have an exceptionally long 30-day shelf-life in ambient conditions. The company, based in factory in Blackburn, Lancashire.
The company began exporting for the first time this year and has reached deals with international distributors and have begun selling in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE.
It is also looking into Eastern European markets, and Scandinavia.
It has taken time to move into export by understanding market trends, investigating potential agents and to understand consumer preferences in each market.
It also planned for the delays of Brexit as well as the extra costs and administrative barriers.
