Zizzi partners with Morrisons to offer 17 frozen products in stores
The range, which consists of 17 frozen products including pizzas, pastas, sides and desserts will launch in 208 Morrisons locations on January 8 2024.
To celebrate the partnership, the supermarket chain will run a promotional deal of £10 for two mains, a side and a dessert, currently scheduled to conclude in mid-March.
Eight of the products that make up the range are exclusive to Morrisons, including new options such as the Calzone Carne Piccante, Garlic Soul Breads, Chicken & Mushroom Risotto and two new Rustica pizzas. All of the products will be merchandised together in a branded freezer bay, designed to provide an improved customer experience.
According to Kantar data, Zizzi’s frozen range has consistently outperformed the market growing both value and volume sales by 176% and 159% respectively. The brand debuted its frozen range with Sainsbury’s in 2020, expanding its offering to include pastas and sides which were launched in Tesco in March 2022, before launching pasta products in Waitrose in 2023.
Rachel Hendry, retail and grocery director at Zizzi, said that the Italian food producer wants to allow shoppers to enjoy restaurant-inspired dishes at hope for an affordable price.
“We have worked in partnership with Morrisons to deliver true innovation to its shoppers, so we’re excited to launch six completely new products within the 17-strong range,” Hendry added.
“Our Garlic Soul Breads are so unequivocally Zizzi, and represent the little twists we bring to all our dishes.”
Frozen category director at Morrisons, Tessa Ward, believes the range brings added quality and choice to its stores.
Ward continued: “The 17-strong Zizzi range has something for everyone, with lots of innovation and at a price everyone will love. This is our biggest Frozen range change since 2019, and we’re sure it will be a hit with our customers.”
