Specification technologist wanted at ingredients company

Moguntia Food Ingredients UK Ltd is looking for a specification technologist to join its team.

Moguntia Food Ingredients UK is a subsidiary of the Moguntia Food Group, a fourth generation family business founded in 1903, with more than 100 years of seasonings, sauce and ingredient innovation, servicing the food industry.

Based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, the position will require the successful candidate to complete and develop new product specifications and ensure that they are maintained in compliance with regulatory standards, customer standards/policies, and quality standards within agreed timescales.

As specification technologist, you will also be responsible for liaising with customers and suppliers regarding their technical queries, and for the completion of customer documentation including SAQ’s, allergen risk assessments etc., alongside certification documents, such as Hala and Kosher, ensuring you keep up to date with UK & EU food law.

This is a permanent role with a competitive salary.

Technical manager role open with Kent confectioner

Chocolate brand Cocoba is looking for a technical manager to join its team in Kent.

Based in Rochester, the technical manager’s primary responsibility will be to maintain high quality standards, regulatory requirements and technical standards throughout the production process.

The role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic direction and proactive problem-solving skills.

Among your responsibilities, you’ll be expected to direct internal audits; coordinate and oversee customer audits and SASLA certification process; review and devise responses to concerns raised by production or packaging teams; and lead the review, update and creation of food safety and quality documents, procedures and policies.

Cocoba Chocolate is looking for someone with a degree in a related technical field, such as food science, strong organisational skills and good communication, and an eye for detail.

You’ll also need extensive experience in food, particularly in technical management, and an in-depth familiarity with food safety standards, regulations and technical standards, with relevant technical certifications highly desirable.

This is a permanent role offering up to £50k per annum.

Hygiene lead needed at Bakkavor Bo'ness

Bakkavor is on the hunt for a site hygiene manager for its Bo’ness based business.  

Based near Falkirk, the Bo’ness branch specialises in the production of fresh, high-quality salad and pasta products working primarily with premium retailers. It produces more than 70m salad-based meals and side dishes from its two manufacturing facilities, employing 1,200+ people.

In this role, you will take full accountability for hygiene departments across two factories to ensure hygiene, microbiological and health and safety standards are met. You will be an established hygiene manager, with knowledge of H&S and COSHH in the food industry and keen to bring in new ideas to further enhance the team’s abilities.   

The is a permanent role, with a salary range of £48,000-£58,000, depending on experience, and various benefits including a performance-related bonus, private medical and life insurance.

This role is Monday to Friday – 8.5hrs normally dayshift, however, you will need to be flexible with early starts/finishes once per week.

You will need to have previous experience leading a hygiene team, with health and safety qualifications; HACCP level 3 is desirable.

London bakery seeks operations manager

Flavourtown Bakery is seeking an operations manager.

The Greater London business specialises in cake and cupcakes and is looking someone to oversee the day-to-day operations of its two stores.

Managing operations across the two storefront operations includes working collaboratively with store managers to drive revenue and standards and implementing best practices across all business aspects, from merchandising to planning launches for new product lines.

The successful candidate will look after budgets, growth planning, production planning, HR and recruitment, as well as being in charge of health and safety across the business from training to implementation.

The company is after a systems-oriented leader capable of implementing and delivering streamlined operational procedures, with experience in setting budgets and targets.

Ideally, you will have extensive experience in an artisanal luxury food business and be capable of directing everything from supply chain to customer experience.

Experience with the Shopify platform and integrations is preferred – leveraging this experience to push sales and smash targets.

This is a permanent role, offering between £45,000 - £50,000 per annum. Sales and KPI-driven bonuses are up to 10% of salary.

An egg-cellent technical assistant required

Just Egg is looking for an individual to join its technical team as a technical assistant. You will jointly manage a small quality assurance team, reporting to the technical manager.

The medium-sized, family owned and operated business situated in north east Leicester since 2003, specialises in the manufacture of egg products, principally hard boiled eggs, poached eggs and egg mayonnaise.

Among your responsibilities, you will be leading on site maintenance, growth and continued improvement of HACCP systems; maintaining supplier contracts and approvals including service suppliers such as laboratory and pest control; and maintaining customer approvals through completion of SAQ's and associated documentation.

Just Egg is seeking someone who has food manufacturing experience, ideally in chilled; alongside training in internal audits and food safety, and experience with BRCGS V9.

This a permanent role, with working hours set as Monday to Friday 8.00 – 16:00. The salary is £31k - £34k per annum, based on experience.
