2 Sisters’ Meal Solutions business hiring

Due to business growth and development, Gunstones Bakery is currently recruiting an NPD manager to support its Dronfield-based site.

Gunstone’s Bakery is a key part of 2 Sisters’ Meals Solutions division, employing around 500 people and producing a range of products with major retailers.

The successful candidate will be a highly driven and customer orientated person, who is keen to innovate through a creative, blue-sky approach.

You will need a strong understanding of Gunstone’s marketplace (products, consumers and competitors) and experience in supporting the major retailers, ideally M&S, Tesco, JS or Morrison’s, within a bakery environment.

This role is suitable for someone in a role such as a senior development technologist ready to take their next steps or an NPD manager looking to join a bigger company.

You will be supported by a development technologist and development baker; and work closely with the commercial manager and category manager, identifying market trends and to aid in the delivery of category reviews.

Key to your role will be the development of new products to deliver the required margin for the brand’s customers and the business, including the completion of development costings within agreed commercial, technical and customer briefs and timescales.

This is a permanent role with a competitive salary, plus benefits, that requires you to be on-site Monday to Friday.

Doritos manufacturer recruiting

The snacks manufacturer is currently seeking a manufacturing technician to join its Coventry site where products such as Doritos, SunBites, Squares, and Monster Munch are produced.

The fast-paced site is a multi-technology plant with significant automation and is home to around 650 team members.

The ideal candidate will be a team player, possess a willingness to lead and initiate change, a great problem solver, and have the ability adapt to an ever-changing manufacturing environment.

As a manufacturing technician you will be a key member of the production team where your actions will directly impact our overall site performance. You will be responsible for a designated area, driving performance to meet, maintain and exceed quality, food safety, cost, service and safety measures.

PepsiCo is specifically looking for someone with validated mechanical and maintenance experience; demonstrable experience of machine operation, fault-finding and repair; skills in communicating effectively and mentoring/influencing others. Previous manufacturing/factory experience is advantageous.

In this role you will report to the shift operations manager and work on a continental shift pattern (4 on, 4 off) working 12 hour shifts. This will rotate between days (06:00-18:00) and nights (18:00-6:00) each block (average of 42 hours per week).

This permanent role pays up to £40,074.43 per year, comes with a competitive pension scheme, and 23 days holiday (with the option to buy/sell holiday), among other perks.

Senior QA needed for dairy producer

Langage Farm is a well-established and expanding, family owned, dairy product manufacturer supplying many national retail chains. A new opportunity has arisen for a senior quality assurance expert to join the company based in Devon, as part of an expansion of its technical team.

As part of this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that site standards on processing, finished product specification and behaviours meet agreed levels.

The successful candidate will assist the technical manager in clerical tasks such as specification drafting and drafting, maintenance of the micro testing schedule in line with Langage Farm’s food safety and quality manual as well as internal auditing.

You will also provide technical support and guidance to colleagues on a day-to-day basis to deliver food safety and quality assurance objectives.

Langage is looking for an individual with good communication and problem solving skills, alongside 3 or more years of QA/technical experience (preferably in a chilled diary environment).  

It will also be advantageous if you have worked to BRCGS standards ar an unaccounced A or AA site and worked with retails such as M&S and Waitrose.

You will need a Level 3 in food safety and HACCP, alongside qualifications in internal auditing, TACCP and VACCP.

This role is permanent and pays up to £36,000. It requires you to work 12:00-20:30 Monday to Friday, reporting to the site’s technical manager.

Barfoots of Botley is on the hunt for a new team member to join its supply chain team in a senior management capacity.

The manufacturer is looking for a dedicated and proactive professional who will thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes challenging environment. Reporting to the head of buying, the new category buying manager will lead the supply chain business unit, overseeing the efficient sourcing and management of a diverse product portfolio.

Candidates can also expect international travel, visiting suppliers around the globe, in turn presenting an exceptional platform to showcase and develop your industry skills and experience.

This is a permanent role with a competitive salary and offering a hybrid workplace format in Bognor.

Among the key duties, the new recruit will need to drive cash margin growth across the product portfolio – with full P&L responsibility; purchase goods at the lowest total ultimate cost; develop and nurture long standing supplier relationships; and identify and pursue new business opportunities/sources.

You will need to understand crop management, technical requirements and product specifications, and have at least 5 years of purchasing experience in the fresh produce sector.

You will need to possess a strong command of the English Language both written and orally. Moreover, being able to speak Spanish in addition to this will be a distinct advantage.

NSF looking for top quality quality inspector

NSF is looking for a quality inspector who will work as an NSF integrated team member in the Whitbread logistics Depot (GXO), based in Wellingborough.

In this role, the successful candidate will monitor product quality standards by carrying out inspection and testing of food products, reporting results and trends to the F&B team and suppliers. They will also act as a responsive resource, monitoring standards, and identifying and escalating issues to drive quality improvement.    

Whitbread PLC is owner of the UK’s favourite hotel chain Premier Inn, as well as restaurant brands, Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Table Table, Bar + Block, and Cookhouse + Pub. NSF has worked with Whitbread for over 20 years, providing the implanted technical team to deliver the technical expertise to support the business.

For this position, you will need a HACCP or Food Safety Level 2 qualification; a passion for food and willingness to handle/taste food of all food types; and experience of working with product specifications/samples and using online specification databases.

A degree in food science, biology, nutrition, or related discipline is desired but not essential, alongside experience in fresh produce.

This is an onsite role, with the primary location at the Wellingborough depot. Occasional travel to a range of Whitbread restaurants, head office (Dunstable), and suppliers will be necessary, with some sites only accessible by car. As such, you will a diving license and car are required.

This is a permanent role with a competitive salary based predominantly in Northamptonshire.
