Food Manufacture rounds up the latest recalls from across the F&B industry.

Several Oreo products recalled because of undeclared peanuts

Whatever Brands has recalled several Oreo products because they may contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label.

The lack of an alert means that the products pose a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

The alert only impacts Oreo products sold in the UK with a Whatever Brands label.

Five varieties have been recalled – Dark & White Chocolate, Strawberry Cream, Blueberry Ice Cream, Cream Chocolate Cookie and Vanilla Cookie – all of which are sold in 119.6g packs. However, the best before dates of the products included in the recall range from 6 September 2024 to 23 March 2025.

Whatever Brands has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a recall notice to its customers which explains why the products are being recalled.

Anyone with an allergy to peanuts should not eat the products that have been recalled and instead return them to the store for a refund.

Top in Town Foods recalls various Mayil products

Top in Town Foods has recalled various Mayil brand products because of incorrect allergen labelling.

The recalled products are as follows (allergen included in brackets): Prawn Chutney Powder (crustaceans), Crushed Chilly Chutney with Prawn (crustaceans, sesame), Tender Mango Pickle (mustard, sesame), Kaduku Mango Pickle (mustard, sesame), Dry Chilly Chutney (sesame), Bitter Gourd Pickle (sesame), Bitter Gourd Pickle Home Made (sesame), Prawn Pickle (crustaceans, mustard, sesame), Fish Chutney (fish, sesame), Uluva Mango (mustard), Vaduka Puli Pickle (mustard, sesame), Cut Mango Pickle (mustard, sesame), Uluva Nellicka (mustard, sesame), Hot and Sweet Lime Pickle (mustard, sesame) and Lemon Pickle (mustard, sesame).
