Financial details of the investment were not released.
Bramble was founded in 2021 by Amanda Rolat, a dog-owner and former attorney, when she was unable to find a pet food that aligned with her values about health, sustainability, and animal welfare.
According to Bramble its high-protein meals ensure dogs receive a complete and balanced diet that exceeds The Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) standards.
Bramble currently offers two dog food options. The Cowbell is a high-protein recipe that includes superfoods such as lentils, sweet potatoes, peas and apple while The Roost is made with potatoes, chickpeas and nutrient-dense veggies like carrots and butternut squash. The company recently debuted two organic, human-grade treat options called the Maple Bac’n and Carob Pumpkin.
Research by the University of Illinois found that dogs who were fed Bramble had significantly lower cholesterol and triglycerides, as well as healthier microbiomes.
Hamilton is joined by his bulldog, Roscoe, who will become the brand's chief taste officer. As a dedicated investor and partner, Hamilton and Roscoe’s work with Bramble will focus on highlighting the positive and transformative impact of a whole food, plant-based approach, the company said.
Lewis Hamilton said that this extends beyond a traditional investment.
He said: “As someone who’s continuously looking to improve my health and find the right food to keep my energy levels up, I think we should look to do the same for our pets, and I want to give Roscoe the best ingredients to keep him healthy and active.
“Bramble ticked all the boxes for me. It’s great to see how far plant-based food has come in the last five years, and I look forward to working with the passionate and dedicated team at Bramble to spread the message about how beneficial a plant-based diet can be for our dogs.”
Amanda Rolat, founder and chief executive of Bramble, welcomed the new partnership with Hamilton.
“I created Bramble because I truly believe that dogs and their caregivers deserve access to complete and balanced food that is nutritionally-packed while also being free from pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones, carcinogens, and other harmful contaminants,” she said.
“As omnivores, dogs are able to get their nutrients from a plant-based diet if formulated correctly. I’m looking forward to working with Lewis and Roscoe to raise awareness for Bramble in a genuine, creative, and fun way.”
