The 10-year agreement will take the partnership between the two companies into its 40th year, with Wincanton set to provide storage and distribution services for brands such as R White’s, Robinsons, J2O and Tango until 2034.
Wincanton has made significant investment into automation in recent years aimed at increasing productivity, capacity and capability at Britvic’s national distribution centre in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.
The extended contract will also see Wincanton continue to manage Britvic’s fully automated warehouse facility in Rugby, Warwickshire.
The two sites despatch a combined 650,000 cases of Britvic products per day.
Commenting on the agreement managing director of grocery and consumer at Wincanton James Hurrell said: “Extending our long-standing relationship with Britvic into its fourth decade is a proud milestone for Wincanton as we see our partnership with one of the UK’s most popular beverage manufacturers go from strength-to-strength.
“We are looking forward to investing in a resilient and innovative platform for growth for Britvic in the UK, underpinned by our shared values around people, planet and performance.”
Meanwhile, Britvic supply chain director Nigel Paine said the firm was pleased to continue our long-standing partnership with Wincanton.
“Their excellent site management and shared values across our people, planet, and performance pillars have been important to our success,” Paine added.
“We look forward to the continued innovation and efficiency this partnership will bring to our supply chain.”
The news comes as it was announced that Carlsberg has received regulatory approval from the European Commission and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to complete its acquisition of Britvic for £3.3bn.
The transaction was agreed to in July and received the backing of Britvic shareholders a month later following the firm’s AGM.
Wincanton was acquired by GXO for £762m in April 2024, but this deal is also subject to a CMA investigation which is expected to conclude in April of next year.
