New packs of ‘Tesco 10 Cooked Beef Slices’ weighing 125g were put on sale with a use by date of 24 January 2025, but the batch is only safe to eat until 24 December 2024.
In response, Tesco has withdrawn the product from circulation and urged customers that have purchased it to refrain from eating it.
Consumer have also been told to return the product to a Tesco store for a full refund.
No other Tesco product are affected by this recall, but it represents the third time this month that the retailer has faced labelling issues.
During December, Tesco has also recalled batches of red cabbage and chicken skewers because they featured the incorrect use by date.
Metal contamination sparks recall
Elsewhere, Brand Organic has recalled various granola bar products because they contain pieces of metal.
The multipacks of 24g MadeGood branded granola bars have various date codes ranging from 11 January 2025 to 24 December 2025.
They include four-packs of ‘chocolate chip, ‘mixed berry’ and ‘chocolate banana’ flavoured bars, as well as five-packs of ‘chocolate drizzled birthday cake’ and ‘chocolate drizzled vanilla’ flavoured bars.
Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that had been selling these products prior to them being withdrawn informing customers that they are unsafe to eat as a result of the metal contamination.
Customers have been advised to the return any of the products that they have purchased to the store where they bought it for a full refund.
